Parker Mesa Overlook Santa Monica

This is for who is a regular hiker and you need to be in some what of good shape.

We are going up and coming down the same way we are going for the view its a small trail that few people take.

STATS

Level: Moderate+-Advanced (for the uphill single track portion)

Gain: ~ 1,300 ft.

Distance: ~ 6-7 miles (out and back via Los Liones is 7 miles; I think this route is a little shorter)

Time: ~ 3-1/2-to-4 hours

Type: Single track dirt and small rocks, partially shaded up and exposed fire road and single track down, loop

Dogs: Not permitted; part of the trail is in Topanga State Park

Water: Not available at trailhead, but there are sinks in the restrooms

Restrooms: Flush toilets available at trailhead (plush!)

Parking: Free parking in several lots on the east side of Los Liones and along the west side of the street from the trailhead to Sunset.

Bring: At least 2-3 liters of water, sunscreen, hat, snacks to share. Poles may be helpful in sections going up.

DIRECTIONS

The closest address to the trailhead is ~ 580 Los Liones Drive, Pacific Palisades 90272

From the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH 1) turn East onto Sunset Blvd. After about 0.3 miles, turn left on Los Liones Drive. Drive about .6 miles back to the end of the street (across from the church) and look for lot or street parking.

From the 405, exit Sunset and continue West about 8.4 miles to Los Liones and turn right.
