[03/09/2023] People's Dungeons & Dragons Sunday
Details
Hello, I'm Alex; me and my friends have run People's D&D group since April 2022 where we host monthly Dungeons and Dragons sessions in The People's Theatre in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Event
We run a series of one-off Dungeons and Dragons games in a shared fantasy world of Moradonia, where players join as adventurers of Steel Phoenix Guild. All games are self-contained standalone adventures - so that you're free to join at any point.
We welcome anyone, regardless of experience level with role-playing games or personal background. We aim to maximize fun, have a good time and make friends - we won't spend ages arguing over minutia of rules :)
We play with 5th edition D&D ruleset - anything in an official published rulebook is legal.
Location: The People's Theatre, Coast Road, NE6 5QF
Date and time: 3/Sep/2023 @13:00
Duration: ~3-4 hours
What to bring
-
If you've never played or are inexperienced at D&D - everything needed will be provided - just bring yourself :) We run introductory games for new players, explaining the rules of the game
-
You can bring pen/pencil + paper for taking notes
-
If you're an experienced player - current regular players have 5th level characters - you can bring a 5th level character if you feel confident playing it (or one can be provided for you)
What is D&D?
Dungeons & Dragons is a table-top fantasy role-playing game, focused on storytelling. You play a fantasy character (i.e. a noble knight, or an arrogant wizard), and you embody that character in a sort of improvisational acting.
Together with other players, you form an adventuring party, explore the world and embark on epic quests.
Another player is the Game Master (also known as Dungeon Master) - the game's referee and storyteller. They populate the world, and tell you the consequences of your actions (good and bad alike), weaving the story together with you.
Everything is your decision, from what you look like, to how you act, to what happens next - so let your creativity shine :)
