A night of Style and Web Graphics with the W3C

Details
The Marquee Club is launching its inaugural event in association with the W3C.
Join us at /dev/local (http://devlocal.io) for an evening of CSS, SVG, and other open web technologies. Meet members of the HTML, CSS, and SVG Working Groups, and learn the current state of the art and how these key technologies are evolving. If you have knowledge to share, sign up to give a lighting talk on your area of interest.
The evening will start with food and refreshments, followed by presentations from our experts:
• The Future of Style by Alan Stearns (https://twitter.com/alanstearns) (Adobe, CSS Working Group)
• The Future is Here: SVG is your Jetpack! by Doug Schepers (https://twitter.com/shepazu) (W3C, SVG Working Group)
• Lightning Talks [sign up (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/16cRYhJOLKt2_K4eLvvuslsjnxgxmz1XoKGaaXBY_jck/viewform)]
◇ Using CSS for more than styling by Brian Johnson (http://www.twitter.com/imbrianj) (Yahoo!)
◇ Servo, the parallel browser engine by Simon Sapin (https://twitter.com/SimonSapin) (Mozilla, CSS Working Group)
◇ WebGL! by Frank Olivier (https://twitter.com/frankolivier) (Microsoft, HTML Working Group)
• Fast and Fluid Graphics: Canvas2D by Jatinder Mann (https://twitter.com/jatindermann) (Microsoft, HTML and Web Performance Working Groups)
• Panel (Your chance to ask questions to the W3C Working Group members)
This event will be a great chance to learn from some of the top experts on the Web, and to network with your fellow web designers and developers. Through the Marquee Club, we hope to build a welcoming community in the Seattle area, where we can discuss and evolve our craft. This event is just the start of that journey.
Space is limited and tickets are given free of charge on a first come, first serve basis. Please unregister from the event if you sign up and then find out you can not make it, so that someone else can take your place.
We are grateful to Microsoft Internet Explorer (http://ie.microsoft.com/) and Plain Concepts (http://plainconcepts.com), whose sponsorship has made this event possible. And to the W3C Working Group members for sharing their time and knowledge.
Parking
As Fremont gets busy in the evening, if you‘re arriving by car, it is important to arrive early. There is street parking around the building. Some of the parking is free (1 or 2 hour) and other spaces have meters.
