Get a first-hand view of the Bald Eagle nest at the Abbott Marshlands. Researchers will be on hand with spotting scopes and answers to our questions about these majestic raptors which have fought their way back from the brink of extinction. Park at the I-295 Scenic Overlook (northbound side) and walk approx. 1 mile to the site. Co-Sponsored by: Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ and D&R Canal State Park, Mercer County Park Commission
The is an "open house" program. People are invited to join anytime between 12:00 to 3:00.
Meet up members: this is not an organized event for only meet up members. This program is open to the public. Please remember you can go and visit the site any time between 12 and 3. This will not be a guided walk. Parking is limited at the Scenic Overlook.
Come enjoy a walk and get some valuable information about our National Bird. FYI...Bordentown will have a Street Fair happening from 8:00 to 4:00 on the same day. Make a day of it.
I edited the map so there should be a marker visible now. Please let me know if you do not see it. There is parking on both the North and Southbound lanes of the 295 Overlook. If you park on the southbound side there is a pedestrian bridge over the interstate. The trail is found on the northbound side. There will be directional signage from the stairway down to the trail leading to the researchers.
