Description: Math is often unpopular among software engineers. When solving real-world programming tasks emphasis is put on the code itself rather than the math behind it (which is given only a secondary role or no role at all). On the other hand, best practices demand to represent essential features using abstraction while hiding background details. In this talk, we will show the benefits of highly abstract code and how it can be reached through math backed by functional programming and type classes.
