What we're about
ABOUT US (Formerly Culture and Cuisine Meetup Group)
If you are a fun, active, independent person in your "Second Half" of life, come and spend time with other "Adventurers" who enjoy a variety of diverse social activities including: Classical music concerts, symphonies, movies, dining out, walking and hiking, cooking and entertaining in private homes (with limited numbers), gardening, art and cultural events.
This group is for all of us who share that life situation chronologically, even though we don’t feel like it. You qualify if you have some gray hair, you OUGHT to have some gray hair, you’ve forgotten your real hair color, or the Men’s Hair Club has your number on speed dial. If you’re basically a kid who wants to go out and have fun playing with friends, then you'll fit in with our group. Senior Singles and Senior Couples welcome.
To join the group, complete the introductory profile, post a photo. Member contributions of $5 once a year are appreciated (to offset expenses, including Meetup Group annual Fees of $190).
A clear and close up face photo of yourself is a requirement to be a member of this group.
Answer the questions posted, and submit your request to join. We look forward to meeting you!
Participating in Activities and Creating Memories are the Primary Focus and Goals

Catherine (the organizer) lived in Cary and Raleigh since 1966, semi-retired and moved to Clayton in 2014. She has been a volunteer coordinator and event planner in the Raleigh area since the early 70s, including organizing and coordinating activities through Cary Junior Women's Club in the 70s, "10s and Friends" singles supper group in the 80s, plus many trips and outings to the NC Symphony to hear classical music, Raleigh Little Theater, Raleigh Ski and Outing Club (RSOC), and other business groups.
**NO SHOW POLICY**
The organizers spend many hours of their time researching, organizing, and hosting events. Sometimes, the organizers even use their own resources to reserve spaces and times for the group. We rely heavily on the accuracy of RSVPs as we plan our events and make reservations. Members are given ample time and reminders to update their RSVPs days before the event. Please update your RSVP to "NO" when you realize you will not be able to make it.
