PCOS - As definied by WebMD: Polycystic ovary syndrome (say "pah-lee-SIS-tik OH-vuh-ree SIN-drohm") is a problem in which a woman’s hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant. PCOS may also cause unwanted changes in the way you look. If it is not treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease. Polycystic ovary syndrome (or PCOS) is common, affecting as many as 1 in 15 women. Often the symptoms begin in the teen years. Treatment can help control the symptoms and prevent long-term problems.
Are you suffering from PCOS? Do you find that you are alone in worrying about what life will have in store for you as years go by? You now do not have to walk this path alone! I am creating this group to allow us women who are living with PCOS to explore and discuss ways we can improve our lifestyle and stay positive. There are varying degrees of PCOS. I would say mine is more on the "severe" side. But there are also those that walk a fine line with PCOS and still need comfort. Let's build friendships. Let's lend a shoulder to cry on, Let's lend our ears to listen!
Most of all.........Let's LAUGH! Let's Have Fun! Let's Make Waves! :)
