Any runners out there? I hope so! This race at Magnuson Park is super fun and very low key -- and it's also cheap! Only $23 for the 5k. Costumes are highly encouraged! A picture of me running this race in a grape costume in 2013 was what initially attracted my husband to my online dating profile years ago, so I will forever be thankful to Magnuson Series for putting this on. :) I believe all 3 distances start at the same time, so let's meet at around 9:30 to pick up our race bibs and get loosened up. We will gladly wait until the last person has finished and cheer you on as you cross the finish line! Afterwards, if people want to go out for a coffee or a bite to eat, we might do that, but feel free to split.
Restaurant Week is happening October 27-November 7, so let's meet up for dinner on Tuesday, November 5th and take advantage of this tasty event! As of mid-September, there is not a list of participating restaurants, but as the date gets nearer, let's talk about where we might want to eat. I'm up for just about anything. You can leave your thoughts in the comments. I'm so looking forward to this delicious 3-course dinner with our 30-something crew! Hope to see you there.
Let's walk around downtown and see all the carolers at Figgy Pudding! I used to participate in this event in years past, so I can tell you for certain it is REALLY COOL! Plus, proceeds to go benefit the Pike Place senior center and food bank, which is a great cause. The event takes place downtown on several streets, which become pedestrians-only for the event. We can walk around and see different groups and donate to any that we really like. After we've seen enough, let's get a bite to eat at Le Pichet. We will meet outside Luly Yang on 4th and University (which has a BEAUTIFUL display window!) at 6:00 and walk over from there. Warning: it will be really packed downtown. If you are not fond of crowds, this may not be the event for you (but you could meet us for dinner!). Hope to see you on Friday, December 6th for some holiday cheer!
Every year I tell myself I will get my act together and buy tickets to The Nutcracker, and every year I disappoint myself by forgetting all about it until only the expensive seats are left. But THIS year I am following through! Let's get dressed up and attend the Sunday matinee performance at 12:30 on December 15th. The performance is 2 hours with an intermission. Afterward, if people want to hang out, we can get a bite to eat or a drink nearby. I will be purchasing a block of 6 of the cheapest tickets, which are $27, so that we can all sit together. You can pay me back through Venmo.
