Beginners Hike @ Tarrywile...w/ Dogs!
Details
Looking for a relaxed way to socialize your pup or simply get your weekly dose of dog joy? Bring your four-legged best friend—or just bring yourself—and join us for a leisurely, low-stress morning stroll through the beautiful woods of Tarrywile Park!
No dog? No problem! This event is explicitly meant for both people who have dogs and people who simply love dogs. If you don't currently have a pup but still want to enjoy a beautiful nature walk, meet new people, and hang out with a pack of friendly local dogs, you are more than welcome to attend!
We will be taking the White Trail, which is a flat, easy 1.3-mile loop around Parks Pond. It is the perfect terrain for a calm "pack walk" where dogs can look at, sniff, and greet each other at a comfortable pace without any grueling climbs.
🐕 Golden Rules for a Happy Pack
To ensure this is a safe and positive experience for every dog and human, please note the park regulations and safety guidelines:
- Leashes Are Mandatory: Per Danbury city ordinance, all dogs must remain on a standard leash at all times. No retractable/flexi-leashes, please, as they can easily tangle during greetings.
- Respect Personal Space: Not every dog wants another pup directly in their face right away. Always ask the owner "Is it okay if they say hi?" before letting your dog approach.
- B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Bags): Please pack plenty of water for yourself (and your pup), as well as waste bags to clean up after your pet.
