About Tesora

Tesora was founded with the vision of radically simplifying how databases are provisioned and managed. By creating an open database as a service platform based on OpenStack Trove, the company is now making this a reality.

With Tesora, OpenStack administrators can go beyond compute and storage to offer their users a self-service, managed database service for MySQL (http://www.tesora.com/openstack-mysql) and other leading databases. Tesora is adding enterprise-class scalability, security, availability, performance and disaster-recovery capabilities that will let you deliver database as a service in the cloud or in your datacente

About Ken

The entrepreneurial bug bit Ken early when he left MIT’s computer-science program early to join an artificial intelligence startup.

Ken has 20 years in strategic planning, business development, mergers and acquisitions, product definition and development. He has shown expertise in innovative go-to-market strategies, growing technical solutions into profitable businesses, building high-performance teams and pushing sales.

Before founding Tesora, Ken was the senior vice president and business unit general manager at Progress Software. He led a combination of sales, services, marketing, product strategy and development for many of the company’s enterprise software products.

Ken joined Progress when his previous company, eXcelon, the maker of ObjectStore, was acquired. There he was the chief technology officer and vice president of product development. Under his technical leadership, eXcelon became the leader in XML database and XML integration technologies while maintaining its dominant position in the object database market.
