Up and Running with Phoenix

After a bit of a hiatus, we're getting back together for the second meet up of this group! This time we'll be take a look at the Phoenix Framework for building web apps. We’ll build a Phoenix chat app together, covering one of biggest features, channels.

We'll be meeting at The Frontier at RTP. Every Thursday, Frontier has a Happy Hour with free beer until 6:30 PM so we'll grab some free beer from 6:00 - 6:30 and hang out, then from 6:30 - 7:30 we'll be in the Fusion Room for a look a Phoenix. If you haven't been to The Frontier yet, don't worry! The Fusion room is easy to find.

Feel free to bring you laptop to follow along and play with Phoenix during the meet up- we'll probably have a little time at the end to just hack and test things out. Checkout the Elixir website on how to get Elixir installed (http://elixir-lang.org/install.html).

If you're new to Elixir, come have a free beer and learn about building web apps with Phoenix! If you've been using Elixir, come hang out with some other Elixir folk.
