Basics of News Coverage (equipment,technics,experience) & Member intros

Meeting can go over the 8pm end till 8:45.

The objective of the meeting is simple. 2 out of three meetups of this group will be to cover a news worthy issue, like protests, presidential candidate town halls and rallies, and public hearings on infrastructure and interviews of public figures. If your are attending one of these active engagement meetups, you need to be familiar with the basic plan of news coverage. Equipment to bring, how to deal with common issues in press meetings, how to ensure you get the video shot and most importantly, how to make sure you have good audio.

I'll give a brief intro,

Members will be given time to introduce themselves.

We will cover hands on sound equipment usage for interviews and coverage of events. Cheap equipment to purchase for professional production of news and experience on how news subjects try to make coverage almost impossible.

Suggestions on news topics to cover are welcome.

There will be a meeting once a bi-month at this library, alternate months will have a meeting in either Rahway (library) or Sommerset NJ.
