Trip to Brooklyn's De Luxe Coffee

Hey CCSers, Happy New Year!

It is with great pleasure that I present the 1st meetup of 2012! We are heading to Brooklyn for the of new opening of De Luxe Coffee!

Friends of mine, Tina and Andy, just opened the cafe and I've been dying to go down. Tina, a Stamford native, is a graphic designer by profession, but couldn't resist not working in coffee, so she started her own cafe.

I was very surprised to find out that they were doing manual brews via chemex. The only cafe that I know of in NYC that brews using this method (if you know of one let me know), so I'm pretty stoked. I'm going to talk it over with her to see if we can turn this event into a little "brewing" meetup, testing out different manual methods.

Just thought I'd pass it along for all those interested. It would be a great way to just get out of your routine weekend and meetup with some great people for coffee and a bite to eat.

We'll meet at the Stamford train station in front of the ticket window at 10:45AM to catch the 11:09AM train. I'll post more details as they come.
