Highly recommend you have AllTrails downloaded and the trail saved this will make finding the trail very easy, there will be a bunch of crazy dog people there anyways so you can't miss us!

Trail details:
Enjoy this 9.3-km out-and-back trail near Pigeon Mountain, Alberta. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 10 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, cross-country skiing, and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

What to bring (remember it is still winter in the mountains):

  • Crampons/spikes are mandatory, if you don't have them, don't come on the hike
  • Winter boots/minimum waterproof hiking boots
  • Poles are a good option
  • Dress appropriately for the weather
  • Bring a lunch, snack and water
  • Bring snacks and water for your dog
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Bear spray
  • You need a Kananaskis conservation pass
  • AllTrails app handy

You and your dog are coming at your own risk.
