As many B2B tech companies go to market, they find that building a channel / partner program offers a great way to increase sales and market penetration while delivering more value to their clients. Channel partners can open new opportunities and even entire new markets, but making these relationships deliver results is much more challenging than direct sales. Enabling partner sales efforts, managing complex sale cycles with numerous stakeholders, working with product to insure integrations and other channel specific requirements are met are some of the challenges. As well, setting management expectations and dealing with the very long sales cycles involved is another challenge often faced in such settings.
