Hey all, I'm Tom, 40 years old, looking for more players (25+ years old preferred). This guild started in late March as a single static group & has grown to 15+ active players and 50+ in the discord quickly. We have a friends & family feel with players all over SD in North, South, East, & Central county. We just met our first invited member in-game very recently that asked what the SD in SD Locals was for and he and his girlfriend joined the guild :) The guild is to serve as a local connection hub for us to hang and meet in person when we can every few weeks & have an MMO we all play be the glue.

We have two scheduled pool play days that are done day-of signing up by listing your characters you wanna play:

Mondays 6:30-8:30pm
Fridays 7-9pm

Meetups:
Every other Sunday 5-7pm rotating through local arcade bars or gastropubs. Our two favorite venues right now are Brewski's in Mira Mesa & Coin Haus in La Mesa.

We hash out the groups right before the sign-up sessions. Our goal would be to have a big enough pool, maybe 30-50 active players & 10+ show up per play day so we can mix & match 2 groups easily if not more down the road. We have casual players that only play during Monday and Friday sessions, and others than play 4+ days a week and level ahead on their mains, and also have alts they sometimes group with the casuals during the scheduled sessions.

We are currently playing Pantheon as the main MMO and are open to changing MMOs and may change within the next few months depending on how the core players feel, so we are in a inbetween period - so feel free still to join the discord to wait and see if we make a switch to the next MMO soon. The game is in early access development and our server has a low population, so it feels like we have our own private MMO server. Camps are always open, but trading and grouping with players outside the guild on the server is becoming rare. we also have 7 people playing Dune Awakening, and others playing online board games including some starting to organize online Sunderfolk sessions. We welcome anyone that wants join even if Pantheon isn't their game of choice they can hang out and maybe they want to join in on the next MMO we move to.

We have around 10 casual players L13-17 right now and 4 more active players are L23-28. If you are new we will help gear you up and try to group and powerlevel as best we can to help get you caught up to the casual group level. Because the server population is very low that will likely mean quite a bit of soloing to catch up but getting to L13-15 or so does not take too long if you're willing to play a bit. Maybe 20-30 hours of playtime roughly depending on how much powerleveling you can or want to be helped with. If you play a lot at night and want to join the 4 most active players then being able to attend the Monday/Friday sessions won't matter nearly as much because at least some of them actively play most evenings of the week and they'd love to have more players to fill out a full group of 6 consistently to xp faster and do the most challenging content for their level range.

The main MMO in the group will always be an affordable and accessible one so the pool can easily grow. There is heavy interest in games like Monsters & Memories and at least 4 people have bought the Alpha 2 & Beta 1+2 keys for Ashes of Creation. These are very likely to become main MMOs in the future for the guild when they are easily accessible & affordable. It'd be nice to keep growing a big enough pool that could sustain two MMOs at the same time so there is some choice and people could switch between them if they want to freshen things up.

Anyone that wants a preview of the Pantheon if they haven't played can join the discord, say hi, and then you can come hang during at one of our weekly set play sessions for a bit while one of us screencasts to see how you like it. Even if you don't want to play the game you're welcome to hang in the discord and come to the meetups. Girls don't be shy, we have three female members & they'd love more female company!

We have people that played Pantheon before joining and new players. We have a majority of EQ, DAoC, WoW vets. The core players love old school heavily group based fantasy MMOs.

The idea for the group is something relaxed and casual, and something to look forward to as a nice easy way to be social & have camraderie. I'd like to have people that have some roots down in San Diego so there is more room for some long friendships to form over time.

About Pantheon, the reason we picked Pantheon is because 3 of us have already started playing before and already enjoy it, it's a fresh game, and it is a very social game where all group members have unique and important roles for the group to succeed so there is a lot of teamwork & camraderie! Beyond that there is also lots to talk about - different classes, zones, mobs (enemy NPCs), gear, crafting, new content & game systems etc... Some people describe Pantheon as the modern successor to Everquest 1 & 2 with some combat feelings from World of Warcraft and Vanguard. It is in early access right now, and has a development roadmap and active community. I've been playing since mid December with my cousin and had a lot of fun playing many different classes.

The game and playtime are meant to be the hub & glue of the group. I'd like to have a group where friendships form and people meet up to hang out or play other games together outside the organized playtime.

About me, I live in North Park and moved here one year ago and I've been familiar with it for a long time visiting friends here for years, and it is now home to me.

Here's my rap sheet:

  • Everquest L60 Shaman during Velious
  • Dark of Age of Camelot once during the original L40 Troll Thane Midgard
  • second time private server during Covid mained L50 Pac Healer Midgard & Bonedancer, also L50 Supp Runemaster
  • Orignal WoW L30 Shaman
  • Tried Guild Wars 2, ESO, FFXI, BDO, couldn't get into them
  • I always like other Fantasy games like Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre etc.

I'm a pretty relaxed guy want the group to have a welcoming culture where everyone is just happy to hang. Outside games I'd say my personality is like half nerd, half jock, and some goth kid (anyone else have a Thursday or The Used phase?) on the inside. I fiddle around on guitar, watch some Latin American streamers to not totally forget the Spanish I've learned over the years. Intermediate surfer that hasn't surfed much lately, used to play basketball in high school, snowboarded a bit in college in Colorado, longboard skateboarding stuff like that. I've got a spotify playlist I've been building for years with 46 hours of songs of all types. I'd like to get into playing tennis more to keep in shape. I go for walks and to the cafe to read, been pretty low key easy going lately.

My top artists over years I have always come back to are The Smiths, Mac Miller, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, Nirvana, 311, Rebelution, At The Drive In, Modest Mouse, Interpol

Artists I've found lately (country kick recently it seems): Sam Barber, Zach Bryan, Gavin Adock, Treaty Oak Revival, Thundercat, Men I Trust

Lived in: Chicago, Orange County, Boulder, Denver, Santa Barbara, Houston, DC

Travelled to a dozen countries across Latin America, Asia, & Europe
