🧙 Sarasota Medieval Fair: Mystical Realms

Ye lords and ladies are invited to step back in time to the 22nd Annual Sarasota Medieval Fair! This is not the same fair thou mayst know from up north during springtide. This gathering unfolds each weekend of November upon a field east of Sarasota. I have attended both fairs and avow— this is the more pleasant fête.
🍗 FEASTS, FIGHTS & FINERIES
Prepare thy senses for:
- Lively music and stage performances (see acts and schedule)
- Medieval food and drink (aye, turkey legs and mead!)
- Artisan marketplace with over 140 merchants
- Human-powered rides, archery, axe-throwing, and more
- The finest costumed people-watching
The event photo be mine from a prior year's Full Contact Jousting Tournament. At 3:15 PM, knights in full metal armor shall charge upon mighty armored steeds until one's wooden lance splinters upon the other’s shield. ’Tis dangerous and shockingly still legal, so we daren't miss it!
Another unique spectacle starts at 12:00 PM in Act 1 of Human Combat Chess, wherein kings, bishops, pawns, and knights battle for survival in a reenactment of the Viking Siege of Paris in 845 A.D.
🧝♀️ COSTUMES ENCOURAGED
Part of the entertainment of a period faire lies in the splendor of everyone's attire. Many come dressed in medieval or fantasy costumes, such as kings, queens, knights, elves, fairies, furries, witches, warlocks, vikings, corseted ladies, or kilted lords. Don a period costume if thou wish, yet plainclothes are welcome.
Our weekend bears the costume theme “Mystical Realms”, penned as: "Beyond the mists lie ancient realms of magic and wonder. During Mystical Realms Weekend, the Woods of Mallaranny become a gathering place for the fae, the enchanted, and the legendary. From graceful elves 🧝 and mischievous sprites 🧚 to noble dragons 🐉 and wandering wizards 🧙, all magical folk 🔮 are called to celebrate a weekend where fantasy reigns and every path may lead to adventure."

Please purchase thy ticket in advance from the fair's website for Nov. 28. $34.88 includes the realm's tax and grants access to everything in the fair (food and drinks sold separately). Once thou hast obtained thy ticket, please declare it in our comments, below.
🕙 TO RENDEZVOUS
Please set thy GPS to arrive at their address at 10:30 AM, such that all may take a similar amount of additional time to park, walk in, and gather our fellowship just beyond the castle gate entrance. We shall wait there until 10:50 AM, unless all arrive sooner. Should thou be tardy, a fair warning— our eyes shall be upon the festivities, not our phones.
The gates are open from 10:00am to 5:30pm, with most events and shows in the first half of the day. All may come and go as thou please.
📜 A DECREE FROM THE QUEEN: RSVPs close the night before our event. Those who decline thereafter or abstain without sending word shall be banished from future quests (late cancellations and no-shows will be removed from the group).
