November game night
Come join us for a fun-filled evening gaming out the future of New York City at the New York Society for Ethical Culture @ 2 W 64th St.
Energetic is the cooperative board game about the future of New York City that's used at 30 universities around the world, including Carnegie Mellon and Columbia.
Energetic has been featured in the New York Times, on NY1, and in Skylight.
You play from 2026 to 2040, a turn each year. Your team must work together to balance your budget, your grid stability, and your public opinion to keep the lights on, win elections, overcome climate impacts, and build 16 gigawatts of clean power for the city. Then you will have replaced all fossil fuels, provided there is a matching reduction in demand from behavior change and efficiency.
This evening is hosted by 350NYC, ethical.nyc, and Skylight, with special guests Green Coop Counciland CRETF.

350NYC (http://350nyc.org) is the the local affiliate of http://350.org , a grassroots network of volunteer-run campaigns in over 188 countries working to prevent climate chaos. Here in New York, we are working locally for a cleaner, greener, better New York City for everyone.

Why the name 350NYC (http://350nyc.org)? 350 means climate safety. To preserve our planet, scientists tell us we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current levels of over 400 parts per million to below 350 ppm. (More on the science of 350 (http://350.org/about/science/)). But 350 is more than a number—it’s a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.
