Beyond Boundaries: AI, GenAI, and LLMs Insights

Details
Hello Berliner Techies,
Join us for the inaugural meet-up of 360Dev Connect, where we dive into the best practices when working with Generative AI (GenAI), and Large Language Models (LLMs). This event is made possible by our sponsor, SAP
Agenda:
Networking and Refreshments
Opening Remarks
Talk 1: Beyond Chatbots: Building Enterprise LLM-based Applications
Abstract: In the rapidly evolving landscape of AI, Large Language Models (LLMs) have outgrown their initial niche of powering chat bots. Today, we can use generative AI not only in enriching human-machine interactions but also in integrating sophisticated capabilities into business applications. The leap from using LLMs in simple conversational interfaces to embedding them within complex enterprise systems necessitates approaches to adapt these models and make them reliable.
This presentation will explore the nuanced process of customising LLMs for enterprise use, highlighting the importance of prompt engineering, in-context learning (ICL), and equipping the models with a diverse toolkit to ensure their responses are tuned to the application needs and to enable building reliable and responsible generative AI applications.
About Speaker: Salma Sohrabi-Jahromi has been with SAP's Deep Learning Center of Excellence for the last two years as an AI scientist. With an academic background in machine learning and computational biology, she has been focusing on building NLP / GenAI based applications as well as fine-tuning LLMs to achieve domain and task specific adaptation.
Talk 2: Stories from the Workbench of a Company Working on the Future of Business AI
Abstract: Generative AI will open up many new opportunities to improve and evolve businesses and their processes. It will create new ways to interact with business applications, accelerate development, and accelerate the integration of smarter, more autonomous AI capabilities. To make this vision a reality, we have all embarked on an extensive learning journey. In this talk, I want to share some of our early learnings from infusing applications with LLM and give a glimpse of what we are working on.
About Speaker: Mathis Boerner with a background in astro-particle physics and machine learning, transitioned from academia to industry, bringing a wealth of experience from his PhD and his time in the automotive sector. At SAP for nearly three years, he's been deeply involved in AI, particularly in the development of LLM-based applications and fine-tuning of LLMs. In his current position as a Generative AI Development Expert, he's working on improving the capabilities of SAP's generative AI hub.
