"As Educators, We Are Not Out Of Work Photographers, We Are Serious Photographers with A "Work Mission" - To Teach

Before You Spend Your Money...... Just Ask The Question

Our students develop real-life photography skills as they progress through our courses. That's why we say, " Before spending your time and money for photography instruction, ask these questions:

How many of your students that start classes will learn enough to be in a gallery show? How much time does it take?

How many of your students have participated in one of your exhibits? In the past year, in the past five years?

What hours is your gallery is open?

Will I learn how to print? Will I learn how to make exhibition, "archival" prints?

Do you have the necessary printers on premises to make "exhibition" prints?

What are the hours for using the print lab? Will there be someone to help me if the printer stops working?

What is your teacher-to-student ratio in the computer lab?

Will I learn how to "mount" prints? Will I learn how to cut mats for show prints?

Will I learn how to frame prints?

Will I learn how to prepare a gallery for showing prints?

What kind of support do you offer after I have finished taking classes with you?

How many of your students go on to work in the photographic industry?

Will you sell the photographs that I have on exhibit? What is your commission for selling the prints you sell?

Will I learn how to sell my work? How to sell my services?

Will I be able to rent computer lab time?

Do you have an "online" gallery? How does someone get their photographs on the "online" gallery? How long do the photographs stay "online"?"

Our answer to each one of these questions is: YES!

At Richard Stromberg's Chicago Photography Classes our only accent is on Learning. We will, teach and work with you, to foster a community where you will learn something each time you walk through the door.

We Include "Photographic Thinking" In All Of Our Classes, no special class.

And You Will Learn The "Language Of Photography"!

We start new class sessions every seven weeks starting in the first week of January beginning the first week of January and continue All Year Long.

If you’re serious about learning photography, start with our free, 90-minute workshop starting at Noon on each Sunday. Then join us for our seven-week classes, offered in Chicago. We offer classes on week days, weeknights and weekends.

Basic camera overview, operation, and the principles of correct exposure

Our free 90 minute workshop is designed to teach people about their cameras and allow demonstrate what our classes are truly like. Starting at 12PM each Sunday, this energetic 90 minute workshop will keep your attention.

Whether you have a new Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) or mirrorless camera, need a refresher or have never attended a photography class, this Is The Free Workshop To Attend.

If you are thinking of purchasing a Digital camera, our instructors will help you understand what is important and what's not important in a digital camera with interchangeable lenses.

You will learn basic digital camera operation: an overview of your camera controls, use of your camera's exposure meter, a discussion about which lens is the best value. Be sure to bring a camera as well as your camera manual. If you do not have a camera, a camera will be provided for your use during the workshop.

Why are Classes Different at Chicago Photography Classes?

Our instructors take a real interest in each student. It takes teaching experience and attention to detail to be sure everyone in the room "gets it.” Our ratio of 1 teacher for every 5 students in our Labs, has been the most effective teaching model in Chicago and the Midwest. We pay close attention to each student, and if you’re having trouble “getting it,” we’ll spend as much time with you as necessary.

Stop by to tour our facilities: two computer labs, with computers (PCs and iMacs); ten "best in class" archival Epson Printers, a Lighting Studio; large classrooms, and our " With InSight Gallery”, http://www.chicagopho... where we have student shows twice a year. We have ample free parking seven days a week. The Photo II & III students have 24-hour, seven-days-a-week access to our facilities.
You see, this is a community of people focused on learning and teaching Photography. Finishing our classes will give you real skills to use on your lifelong learning journey. Attend classes once a week along with a weekly lab session, and in nine months you’ll be ready to participate in one of our group shows.
Our "With InSight Gallery", http://www.chicagopho ... , is not for others; our Gallery is for showcasing and selling our students work and the work of the teachers and Photographers in our unique community.

We don't have rigid hours. We stay as late as necessary after class and we open each day hours before the classes begin. Every student gets the extra time needed. We are available to students seven days a week, at times convenient for you. All prospective students are encouraged to attend our free 90-minute workshop, offered each Sunday, before they sign up for classes.

At Richard Stromberg's Chicago Photography Classes, our only accent is on learning! We will teach and work with you, in a nurturing community, where you will learn something every time you walk through the door.
