This session will overview how to connect IoT devices and hardware to AWS using Amazon's next generation IoT framework. We will dive into:
• A walkthrough of the AWS IoT eco-system
• Configuring and setting up "Things" in AWS using Raspberry Pi and Arduino hardware
• Working with the "Device Registry"
• Setting up "Rules" and mapping "Things" to services such as Lamda, DynamoDB, SNS, etc
• Discussing "Device Shadows"

6:50 - 7:30 PM Session Two: "An Echo of Things to Come"
This session will build on the concepts presented in the previous session and add Amazon's Echo platform and Alexa skills into the mix. We will cover:
• Coding skills for AWS lambda / node.js including:
• Responding to Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) events
• Intents (methods that are mapped to users request)
• Working with slots (voice to data mapped inputs) and utterances
• Registering "skills" in the Developer Portal
• Connecting the dots between AWS IoT "Things" and Alexa/Echo
• Demo of the new Alexa Voice Service (AVS) enabling voice controlled apps
