Breaking Through Blocks to Expression:
A Dancing Mindfulness and Expressive Arts Workshop

Do you ever have the sense that you have something to offer to the world, and yet something is keeping you stuck? For many people, a great deal of fear exists around experiencing emotions fully and living as a deeply feeling person in this world. This fear can make us feel trapped in both our personal and professional lives. In this workshop, Dr. Jamie Marich, the creator of the Dancing Mindfulness approach to expressive arts therapy, will use a combination of dance/movement, writing, drawing, and expressive arts sharing to help you break through the blockages. You will be invited to set an intention about how you can best identify or begin to work with a block that may exist—to feeling, to expression, or stepping into the fullness of your mission for life.

Absolutely no previous experience in dance or the expressive arts is required to benefit from this workshop—come as you are, with as open of a heart and a mind as possible. If you keep a journal and want to bring your own pens or some light art supplies (e.g., colored pencils, markers, pastels), you are invited to do so.

Dr. Jamie Marich is a trauma specialist, author, and developer of the Dancing Mindfulness approach to psychotherapy. She travels internationally teaching on topics related to expressive arts, mindfulness, trauma, addiction, and yoga while maintaining a private practice in her home base of Warren, OH. She is the author of seven books on trauma recovery, most recently Process Not Perfection: Expressive Arts Solutions for Trauma Recovery.
