Clutter can make you feel like you're not good enough and unworthy!
Details
We will be reading and discussing the following from the book, "Clutter Busting - Letting Go of What's Holding You Back" by Brooks Palmer.
"Often people surround themselves with things that, on the surface, appear to make them more intelligent or interesting. They hope that people will be enamored by the glittery trappings and trophies and will believe they represent their owner, like some kind of placard. Many people do this with degrees and awards and big accomplishments and toys and even the people in their lives."
"When you begin your decluttering process, question these things, awards, and people. They will show what you are trying to avoid, which is usually centered on not feeling good enough, not feeling worthy. Our culture makes you try to prove your worth through what you've obtained and what you've accomplished. You then feel that once you attain these things (clutter), you will be good enough"
"Either you get these things and still feel miserable, or the goal is unattainable and you give up. Or you try to attain the goal and can't, proving to yourself that you're not good enough."
