Talk Night at Carbon Five LA

Details
Carbon Five's monthly talk series, featuring speakers form varied backgrounds, talking about various topics!
We have two great tech-centric talks this evening.
First, we have Doug Tung showing us A Workflow for Analytics using Databricks, Spark and Scala:
Spark and Hadoop are powerful tools for analyzing large data sets. But the distributed nature of these tools creates new challenges. This talk explores project organization and workflow for TDD and iterating quickly in this environment.
Then, Hannah Howard walks us through Applying Cutting Edge Frontend Techniques to Angular 1.5 and ES5:
We'd all love to build our web front-end with the latest technologies like React, Redux, Angular 2, Babel and TypeScript. But what happens when you can't make this choice? I found myself caught in an Angular 1.5 project using pure ES5 and discovered I could still build a cutting-edge architecture I'm proud of. I'll share what I learned and how you can apply it to your own work.
Doors open at 6pm. Talks begin at 7pm, and last approximately an hour including Q&A. The rest of the evening, until we shut down at 9pm, is free time. We also have an accompanying Slack to discuss during and around the event; contact a group admin to get an invite.
We will provide pizza and drinks (beer and non-alcoholic drinks), wi-fi, cool vibes and killer talks.
If you're driving, here's some parking help (https://www.parkme.com/map/?s=1207+4th+Street%2C+90401#525%20Colorado%20Avenue%2C%20Santa%20Monica%2C%20CA%2C%20United%20States).
