Tim Davis: Deploying a Massive Multitouch Data Experience on MacOS
What does it take to build a multi-user, multitouch data experience on three 100” 4k displays? A little bit of Python, a pinch of Node, a ton of Swift, an iMac Pro, a few Raspberry Pis, and a lot of hacking Apple’s core technologies like NSWindow, Apple Maps, NSCollectionViews and more. In this talk, Tim Davis lays bare key hurdles he faced and innovations he deployed in building a cutting edge visualization system – and where to get all the open-source code.
Colin Caufield: Dynamic Layouts at Flipboard
How does Flipboard create an endless variety of magazine-style layouts on iPhones and iPads? Programmatically! Learn the techniques and patterns we use to mimic printed pages in a digital world. Plus, the secrets behind our flipping animations.
The event is at the VFS animation campus across from Woodward's, located at 151 West Cordova Street, in Theatre 106.
