Biochar and Berkley 21-day composting workshop
Details
Join other monkeys and learn about making biochar and compost. Two very important elements to add to your soil.
Biochar is a super soil amendment that act as microscopic 'lifeboats' for soil life. The surface area in one teaspoon of biochar is roughly equivalent to an acre. You must first 'charge' the biochar by soaking in worm/compost tea then apply to soil (~5-10% coverage). Once amended into the soil they become feeding/breeding stations for your soil life which in turn feed your plants which can then feed you.

Berkley 21-day composting method is one of the fastest ways of making great compost. We'll make a pile from scratch and talk about the best materials to use, turning schedule and more. You'll also see a week+ old pile to see progression.
We'll start off with biochar at 1pm
Flip the old compost pile at 2pm
Build the new pile around 2:30pm
Meetup/Workshop is free (meetup.com charges ~$150/yr for services) SO donations (suggested $20) are always greatly appreciated and necessary to help us keep exploring permaculture and sharing the knowledge learned.
