Perm the Park & Pizza Party on Permaculture Day!

Sunday May 4th is International Permaculture Day (http://www.permacultureday.org/)! Come out and help us perm the park and party with the pizzas.

ape99 is fortunate to be adjacent to a large section of rough city parkland that has been used, abused and abandoned. Over the past few years we've done continuous cleanups & plantings and it needs more help to turn it around!
A 2014 goal is to perm up the park the only way a monkey knows how...guerrilla style.
This will be our theme in 2014 and our monthly meetups will focus on different aspects of perming the park. We're using care-taking principles to discourage erosion, encourage succession, and beautify/diversify these Austin tree habitats all while growing food and removing trash and invasives and building community.

Come celebrate one of the longest running permaculture projects in Austin on International Permaculture Day by coming to perm the park!
We're making it an all day event so feel free to stop by and help out as you can. We're aiming to have cob oven for the pizza party ready about an hour before sunset. We've included a recipe for super simple sour dough so make some to bring, share and compare.
10 am - Hands on Permaculture time
1 pm - ape99 site tour - break - discussions - more park time
7 pm - Pizza Party

Things to bring // Start before-hand.
FOR THE PARK
+Gloves, shovels, clippers etc.
+Seeds/starter plants (non-GMO of course)
+Water bottle / Cup
+Wear boots/shoes.
FOR THE PIZZA
+Favorite pizza toppings
+Start some sour dough
• 1 jar+ 1 cup water + 1 cup flour
• Cover with a cloth+rubberband lid.
• Stir it every time you think about it (at least once a day)
• Takes 3-4 days to pick up yeast, depending on your environment
