SPECIAL EVENT
One Hour Free 3D Modeling Workshop with TinkerCAD (Parents, Teachers Preferred)

Description:
This is a 1-hour TinkerCAD workshop on how to create 3D objects on the computer for 3D printing.
TinkerCAD is a free, easy-to-use 3D design tool that runs over the internet. No prior 3D experience is necessary.
We especially welcome parents and teachers who are looking to help their children learn STEM, to help us provide feedback on how we can all work together to better educate new technology to the next generation. Please note this event is for ages 18+.

Attendees must bring their own laptop. Doesn't matter Mac or PC.

We will be introducing some fundamental techniques in 3D modeling by first making a name-plate. Then from there, we will make a simple house using key takeaway concepts.

Depending on time, audience demographics and interest, we will either be creating some basic statement jewelry, reverse engineering a mechanical part, or creatively interpreting meme foods such as burgers and cupcakes.

Presenter Bio:
Lily Su has been a 3D design instructor for after schools in the NYC area and has worked with the Harlem Education Activities Fund via Dimension Learning, 3D Printing Academy for Girls by Youth for Technology Foundation sponsored by MakerBot, Autodesk, 3D Systems, Dassault Systems. She also teaches other professionals 3D CAD via Pluralsight.com and FashionClassroom.com.

She has 6 years experience in the field of 3D CAD modeling and is proficient in Rhino, Solidworks, ZBrush, Maya, Fusion 360, and TinkerCAD. She currently works in Maya for Alvanon, a fit consultancy to create dimensionally accurate and anatomically correct mannequins for manufacturing for fashion designers in the apparel industry.
