Description:
Aaron Trocola from design firm "ThreeForm Fashion" will review some specific applications and technologies currently being developed including: 3D Printed Fashion, 3D Printed Surgical Implants, Brain-Computer Interfaces, Biometric Wearable Technologies, and Virtual Reality.

Representation of the body in the digital world is becoming an increasingly large part of modern life as interaction with technology increases. In past decades, this often meant reduction of one's self into a handful of numbers/measures. However in the short future, we will see an explosion of body related data that is more literal, informative, and therefore more actionable and influential in our daily lives. From biometric technologies to high-resolution volumetric scanning of the brain and body, this talk will break down the current state of these technologies, and plot their course in our lives over the next decades.

If you have any questions, please email the event organizer, David Szalyga, at: david.szalyga@bod.gnym.org

Aaron Trocola is an Industrial Designer and Consultant specializing in product development using additive manufacturing processes, often leveraging 3D data for customization, and especially in the context of the human body. His early work in developing visualization systems for 3D display and surgical simulation tools has transferred well to product design, where additive manufacturing (3D Printing) brings opportunities for efficient and cost effective development of products as well as creative freedom. He is a tech and fashion innovator who currently works as a 3D printing consultant to the Brooklyn Fashion Design Accelerator, as well as independently through ThreeForm Fashion.
