Parisian Ball (Fete Paradiso) at Governor's Island this Saturday!

I'm new to the group and wanted to introduce myself!
I'm also suggesting one of the coolest-sounding, unique events is happening this weekend: PARISIAN BALL (Fete Paradiso)!
VINTAGE carnival rides and carousels from the 19th century! A whole island is transported back in time, and across cultures to celebrate Bastille Day. There will be musical performances.

Earlybird Tickets are already sold out! But you can still get tickets from their site.

Free ferries, and the island's closing time (normally 7pm) will be extended for this special event! The party will go past midnight!

"Do you believe in Magic?...

On 13th July 2013 one of this summer's coolest new events hits New York City and promises to bring together a diverse cast of colourful characters in a carnivalesque atmosphere. Aiming to reinvigorate the city's festival culture with an emphasis on freedom of expression and building a community, The Parisian Ball is set to take place in a magical setting on Governors Island on Bastille Day – a celebration that marks a key moment in the French Revolution, the storming of the Bastille and eventual freedom for the masses.

The aim is simple, to create a fairytale-like environment where New York's menagerie of communities can unite through music, arts and the pursuit of magic.

Now onto the wonderous location...

Like a childhood dream we have recreated an early 20th century French carnival with vintage carousels and rides imported from a prestigious private collections for a totally unique experience.

If that isn't enough you'll also have your ears tantalised by an array of entertainment from the very best DJs from NYC's very best parties... Masters of the French underground scene will be at the healm, with Phil Weeks, Franck Roger and Alex From Tokyo headlining the event providing the soundtrack to our dreamland. Our awesome line-up will be accompanied by live bands.
