Tracking Progress Of An Async "Workflow Engine" (Part Two)

Details

Last month we looked at techniques for building an asynchronous "workflow engine" using `NSOperation` and `NSOperationQueue`. Our "workflow engine" included progress tracking using `NSProgress`.

This month we'll look at techniques for building customizable progress views using Core Animation and custom animatable properties.

Topics covered (45 minute talk):

  • quick review of the "async workflow" from the last month
  • techniques for building custom views based on Core Animation
  • key-value coding and key-value Observing
  • handful of useful design patterns

Feel free to arrive around 5:45. We'll get started shortly after 6pm. The main presentation should wrap up by 7pm, leaving plenty of time for questions.

Food Sponsor:

  • NISC is sponsoring the food this month.
