Logging with Logstash, Kafka, and Elasticsearch

Details
Please note the changed date for this meetup. It will be on TUESDAY, September 15 instead of our usual Wednesday meeting.
Application logging and log retrieval can suck. You ramp up your logging settings to TRACE trying to catch that critical bug. The next day you check your logs but, being too verbose, they rolled over themselves losing critical context. In this talk, Joe Lawson shows you the best ways to use Logstash (https://www.elastic.co/products/logstash), Kafka (https://kafka.apache.org/index.html), and Elasticsearch (https://www.elastic.co/products/elasticsearch) together. He'll talk about building a pipeline that can reduce outages and recovery time that works in the cloud or a data center.
Joe is the original author of the logstash-kafka (https://github.com/joekiller/logstash-kafka) plugin. Along with being an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional Level, he is currently a Search Engineer at OpenSource Connections (http://opensourceconnections.com/) and is eager to help you adopt and develop best practices in logging.
Join us for September's meetup! As usual, we'll have food and drinks (courtesy of Elastic (https://www.elastic.co/)) at 6:00 PM and the presentation will kick off at 6:30. See you there!
