Socially Distanced Picnic in the Park

Florham Park Gazebo

If you're like me, you're ready to hang out with friends, but still very cautious in light of COVID-19. I'm not yet ready to host dinner at a restaurant for our group, but I think an outdoor picnic in which we adhere to social distancing guidelines could be a safe compromise. With this in mind, I invite you to join us for a picnic in the park near the Florham Park gazebo. There are a few tables and we'll try to grab them, however, they cannot be reserved, so let's have a back-up plan. The picnic guidelines will be: 1) Each person bring a chair in case we can't get the tables 2) Bring any extra items you think might be helpful, i.e. small table, blanket, bug spray, sunblock, etc 3) We will sit in loosely spaced groups of 6 4) Bring your own food/drinks Positive or "going" RSVPs only. You need to RSVP "not going" only if changing a prior "going" RSVP. Good people. Good food. Good times.

Ethiopian Dinner in New Brunswick

Dashen Ethiopian Cuisine

At Dashen, you're invited to enjoy and experiment with an authentic Ethiopian meal. Typically consisting of spicy vegetable and meat dishes, usually in the form of wat (a thick stew) and served atop Injera (a large sourdough flat bread), vegetarian and vegan options are also available. Finish it all off with crepes; a non-traditional, but special treat that works at Dashen. Follow the link for the menu and other info. https://www.dashenethiopiannj.com/ Once your status is confirmed as "going", the $6 deposit will be due no later than the Tuesday prior to the event in order to confirm headcount. To be fair to all group members, this requirement will be firmly enforced. The $6 deposit can be paid via the methods below. Reference the event (restaurant name, cuisine type, or date) when submitting your deposit. 1. Venmo at Sonya-Boyd-1 2. CashApp at $SonyaBoyd1 3. PayPal at [masked] Ordering and payment for the meal are as follows: 1. Everyone orders anything they want (drinks, appetizer, entree, dessert, coffee, etc) 2. Add 20% tip to the total 3. Divide the total bill by the number of attendees 4. Deduct $3 for the deposit (I keep $3 to put towards MeetUp fees) 5. That amount is owed by each attendee 6. I pay the entire bill with my credit card 7. Each attendee sends me their portion via Venmo, PayPal, or CashApp while we’re at the table. Positive or "going" RSVPs only. You need to RSVP "not going" only if changing a prior "going" RSVP. Good people. Good food. Good times.
