What we're about

This group is for members age 40+ from anywhere in the Twin Cities who are interested in exploring the amazing variety of food, drink & events that Minneapolis and St Paul have to offer. Minneapolis and St Paul have it all - Minnesota made spirits, cocktails and craft brews; free live music; fantastic Food Trucks and unique, regional menus. Future events include the annual Food Truck Rally at Harriet Brewing, various local outdoor music events, some smaller local block parties, Open Streets events - anywhere in Minneapolis and St Paul where there is food, drink, music & fun. Meetups will be scheduled a few times a month. There is no upper age limit - I've been getting questions about that. If you are 40+ and enjoy getting out to meet new people and want to experience these great cities we welcome you. Join us today!

Art-full Mini Golf

Can Can Wonderland

Can Can Wonderland is a new indoor artist-created mini-golf layout surrounded by artwork - plus bar/restaurant. It doesn't get more wonderful than this! Cost is $14 for golf. If we get 15 members to sign up, we get $2 off per round of mini golf as the group rate. *Meet at 600pm - at the seating area past the bar on the right immediately after entering Can Can. If there are about 15 people coming, I may be able to book a tee time and we golf-then-bar. If I can't book a tee time, then we will likely have a wait so we bar-then-golf. They do not take reservations, so most likely we will have to put our name on a list. There are other things going on besides mini-golf.. food and cocktails, dance lessons, pinball and dancing just to name a few, so lots to do.. *Location* - on the left side of Prior Ave - you will likely see the banner for BlackStack Brewery - Can Can's "secret door" is next to it, in the same building. Follow red arrows to basement RSVP's: Please be cool. Change your RSVP if you can't make it - more than 2 hours in advance is really helpful for those organizing the event. I take the time to greet everyone so come by and say hello. 3 no-shows and I'll go ahead and take you off the group list. If you'd like to re-join when you are able to make events, just message me.

Socializing at a favorite brewery on a Sunday evening!!!

Surly Beer Hall & Restaurant

***This event is weather dependent. If its raining i will cancel it because its impossible for the group to get a table at this place inside, as its become so incredibly crazy busy. They also expect you to eat if you get a table and obviously not everyone in the group would be eating. When we attempted to get a table inside for the group last year when we visited, it was a 3 hour wait as they don't take reservations!*** Hey all! To find the group when you get to Surly: We will be on the patio as we attempt to get a table to gather. They do not take reservations so we will see what happens based on how busy they are at the time. Look for the Meetup sign propped up near the group. Please note: this is the Beer Hall & Restaurant in Prospect Park neighborhood of Minneapolis at 520 Malcolm Ave S.E. This also includes a large brewing facility which you can tour if you sign up early enough - check their website for details. The brewery complex itself is a spectacle, a large space making it the Big Daddy of local breweries set in one of the industrial no-man's lands that you find in the Twin Cities. The building has great places to explore including a few outdoor areas, balconies, and separate event rooms. You can visit the beer line only or if you want to sample the menu get seated in the Beer Hall for table service. Some of the beers on tap you won't find anywhere but in-house and the food offerings are regionally inspired and always interesting. They also have Surly Pizza now, located on the 2nd floor. Surly Brewing Co.: http://surlybrewing.com FAQ's: Parking is free in a large attached lot. If that fills up there is free street parking, just watch the signs carefully. Cash and credit / debit cards work. RSVP's: Please be cool. Change your RSVP if you can't make it - more than 2 hours in advance is really helpful for those organizing the event. I take the time to greet everyone so come by and say hello. 3 no-shows and I'll go ahead and take you off the group list. If you'd like to re-join when you are able to make events, just message me.

Happy hour on the lake

Sandcastle

*****THIS EVENT IS WEATHER DEPENDENT. There is no indoor seating so if the afternoon is going to be stormy I will reschedule this and e-mail anyone who RSVP'd. Please keep an eye on this event page for updates, thanks! Hope the snow is gone so we can get out on a patio on the beach!!! One of our favorites in the city! Winner of The Star Tribune 2014 Best Lakeside Dining Award, Sandcastle is a well kept secret on the shores of Lake Nokomis. Located on the "big beach" Sandcastle features a surprising menu of local, fresh & inventive food, craft beer, wine, kombucha, killer iced tea and more. The remodeled patio has loads of seating, much of it is in the shade so even on a warmer day it's pleasant IMO. FAQ's: Sandcastle takes cash & credit/debit cards. No cash machine on site. Directions / Map: We are located on the big beach at Lake Nokomis. The nearest streets to us are Cedar Ave South and East Minnehaha Parkway. We are also very close to where Cedar turns into Hwy 77 and there is access to Hwy 62 here as well. From both Cedar and Minnehaha Parkway you can enter onto Lake Nokomis Parkway to drive around the lake and find us. We are on the west side of the lake. Parking: There is free parking along Lake Nokomis Parkway. There is also a large pay lot at the beach. http://www.sandcastlempls.com/contact.html Sandcastle website: http://www.sandcastlempls.com/index.html RSVP's: Please be cool.
