What we’re about
This group is for SINGLE men and women who are AGE 40 and above who enjoy camping and socializing with like minded people. All campers, whether novice through experienced are welcome. Tents, cars, trailers or vans are welcome. We’re here to camp in relaxing and interesting places near you and, not so near you. The group leader, John, wants our members to get away from the daily grind, sit around a campfire with good conversation and your favorite beverage, relax, hike, commune, cook, laugh, breathe fresh air and make new friends.
We have established a quad-county group consisting of people from Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Diego Counties. Come out and meet friendly people who enjoy camping just like you. We mostly have 2-day camp-outs since many of our members still work.
In most cases each camper is responsible for booking their own camp site or arranging to share with other members. There may be some events where a group site is booked and in this case all details will be explained in the event notice.
Each event will describe the location, whether you will have to book your own site and any other details. We may also have the occasional "meet and greet" where you can get to know each other. By joining the group, you agree to all terms mentioned below.
**PLEASE NOTE.
- This is NOT a single hookup or dating group (see terms below). It is a social group for single people who enjoy camping. If you are in a relationship this is also probably not the group for you.
- If you have a friend you would like to bring as a guest, please ask them to apply for membership to the group or obtain permission from the organizer. Minors should not be brought as guests unless the organizer has given permission.
- Many people join the group but for one reason or another decide it is not for them. In order to keep the membership current, if you have not visited the Meetup site for over a year you will be removed from the group. If you decide you still want to be a member you may reapply for membership.
Safety and Risks of Involvement- As a member of this group, your participation is on an "at will" basis and you agree to assume all risks and liability related to, or resulting from, any and all functions and activities in which you participate, regardless of whether the risks are described in the Meetup write-up, are inherent in the activity, or otherwise. You agree that neither you nor any third party will hold any of the group's leaders, or representatives liable for any injury, loss, or damage to your own person, pets, or property, arising directly or as a consequence of any activity.
You are responsible for your own safety and making sure you are appropriately equipped and have the physical ability to participate in the group events. This includes but is not limited to traveling to and from events, setting up your own campsite, and ensuring access to any necessary supplies, medical care and medications you may need.
Dangerous Behavior - Any dangerous behaviors that put your physical safety and/or the safety of those around you at risk will not be tolerated and may be cause for your removal from the group. This includes but is not limited to the abuse of alcohol or drugs.
Offensive Behavior/Harassment- Whether it be mental, emotional, sexual, or physical, harassment or offensive behavior of any kind is not tolerated and can be cause for immediate dismissal from the group.
Travel- Travel to and from the event is your responsibility and you assume all responsibility for any accident or mishap, regardless of the method of transportation used, or whether you were a driver or passenger.
Minors- Children and minors are only allowed when expressly stated in a Meetup write-up, or you have obtained prior approval from the organizer. When allowed they will need your signature on an agreement for participation form and adherence to all policies, rules of safety, and conduct.
Pets-are allowed on trips except when the campground does not permit it. Please be aware that campground policies dictate if pets are allowed. Additionally, pets must get along with people and other pets.
