About the speakers:
--Brook Colangelo: Brook currently leads Waters IT organization as CIO. He is a technology leader with a track record of transforming infrastructures, developing new products, and reengineering teams and processes. Brook has led through market disruption enabling companies to grow profits and increase value to customers. He has developed and delivered innovative technology solutions for President Obama, Federal Government, non-profit, political, and private sector organizations. During his time at the White House, Brook completely overhauled and modernized IT infrastructure, systems and processes – enabling mobility, automation and transparency – while dramatically transforming the enterprise to achieve 99.99% operational stability, improved from chronic outages of 23% downtime.
--Simon Meffan-Main: Simon currently leads the Global Waters Informatics Product team which is accountable for delivery of multiple software application suites including Empower, NuGenesis and UNIFI.
Joining Waters in 1998, he has held notable positions in applications, R&D and product management starting within our Mass Spectrometry business in the UK. In 2012 he joined the software team and relocated to the United States working first in Project Management before taking over leadership of the Engineering and Product Owner teams. He was instrumental in initiating Waters Agile, UX and CI/CD transformations.
Simon holds a degree in Geology from Glasgow University and Ph.D. in Isotopic Geochemistry from the University of Leeds.
--Allen Caswell: Allen's background is in chemistry, where he got interested in the software side of instrument control and data processing. He has been at Waters now for 30 years in various roles in software development and project leadership. And he now leads the Informatics Research organization looking at the future of our software products. Allen holds a BS in Chemistry and Math from Milligan College, with a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Virginia Tech.
--Anna Loparev: Anna's background is in academia, where she studied the potential benefits of educational video games while working part time as a game designer. She now works at Waters as a senior user experience researcher, designing, facilitating, and analyzing customer workshops in which she elicits opinions and ideas for current and future products. Anna holds a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from Wellesley College, with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester.
