We are at the Red Sky offices in Draper again this month. Mike Smith is the Lead Cloud Architect at http://Overstock.com and will give us the scoop on how they use OpenStack.

OpenStack at Overstock

http://Overstock.com has been using Openstack since the Folsom release and now runs much of its production infrastructure on their OpenStack clouds. Overstock’s Lead Cloud Architect, Mike Smith, will discuss the design of their OpenStack clouds, choices that were made along the way, and will demonstrate some of the automation they have put in place to help make their cloud platforms successful.

Mike Smith is the Lead Cloud Architect at Overstock.com (http://overstock.com/) and is responsible for the design, build-out, and operation of Overstock's private OpenStack clouds in multiple locations.

Mike has a long history of experience with online retail, Internet hosting and service virtualization. He has been a speaker at the Paris and Austin OpenStack Summits. Mike is a graduate of BYU with a degree in Business Management.

We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month. This is our regularly scheduled monthly meet-up.
