Ember.YVR Talks Night

Ember.YVR is back! Come join us for the reboot of the Vancouver Ember.js meetup on August 10th at CodeCore. We’re starting with a brand new introduction and have some great guest talks planned for future meetups. Let’s show the Ember community what Vancouver is made of!

“Introduction to Ember 2.0” (Benjamin Borowski (http://twitter.com/typeoneerror))

Ben will be walking through creating a basic ember app with Ember 2.0 and giving an overview of the Ember ecosystem, from code to concepts. This’ll be quite high-level and be great for anyone who’s interested in making a transition from plain ol' javascript or jQuery-based development to Ember. We definitely want you to come if you’re working with Ember as well! We hope this talk can become a talk that anyone can give in the future, so we’ll want people to help improve that too.

“Using Firebase with Ember” (Brandon McKay (http://twitter.com/brandonjmckay))

Brandon will demo using the Firebase adapter with Ember projects and talk a bit about his experiences working with Ember.

"Static Site Generation with Ember" (Eubene Sa (https://twitter.com/eubenesa))

Why Jekyll when you can Ember? Eubene will demo his record label Ember project that got its wee fame on Exclaim!. He’ll be going over some addons such as ember-cli-autoprefixer and ember-cli-less, adding routes and templates, and even deployment to Divshot. Beginner-friendly!
