Ramsey Park Whiffleball

Let’s play Wiffle ball at Ramsey Park, home of the Chronicle pick-up game; home of the Ramsey hop and so many balls into the long gaps between center, left and right.

This park is where I go when I go home with the armadillo. Old friends, new friends, Wiffleball lovers of Austin of today: Howdy! Let’s play.

For those keeping their own stats constantly in their heads: this is open to all Wiffle ball invitation. The legit white perforated plastic ball, the instructive box, the yellow bat. A game consists of two or more people and we already have at least that.

Think imaginary runners. Think base hit.

Pitcher’s call on strikes and outs. Imaginary fielders all talented athletes making millions. A hit has got to look and sound like a hit.

Pitcher must field all comebackers and pop-ups cleanly.

Trash can ump. Balls and strikes called on where it lands.

Other rules to be agreed upon as needed for legendariness of the moment.
