Teaching Tour: Syracuse at Night (Night Photography)

During this 2 hour tour, we will visit and photograph several locations around downtown Syracuse that lend themselves to night photography: Franklin Square Park fountain and statue, Creekwalk, Niagara Mohawk building, Clinton Square. The focus of the tour will include tips for night photography and composition.
Parking:
There is free street parking around the park.
Suggested Items to Bring:
- DSLR
- Prime standard lens (for super crisp detail)
- Wide Angle lens (for getting the whole shot)
- Tripod (this is pretty much required, but you might be able to get shots without one, but placing your camera on a hard surface.)
- Good walking shoes - we'll cover about 1.5 - 2 miles roundtrip! (Students with mobility problems are welcome to drive to each location and rejoin the group.)
- Flashlight
What to Expect:
Each student is free to photograph whatever subject matter they'd like, being respectful of each other and the surrounding properties. Phil will provide some basic tips to the group and hands on instruction to each student as requested. This will be a rain or shine event. When everything is wet, everything is shiny!
Fees and Payment:
The Teaching Tour fee is $40 per student, cash (preferred) or checks accepted. Each student will also receive a small free gift!
