CULTIVATING DIVERSITY IN DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY

Details
Description:
DesignTech Launch in conjunction with General Assembly (https://generalassemb.ly/education/cultivating-diversity-in-design-technology/chicago/38537)
Overview: Despite daily coverage of the lack of diversity in design, tech, and STEM fields, gender and racial gulfs have yet to narrow. We want to change that. So we’re partnering with the women of DesignTech, along with some of Chicago’s leading design and tech professionals, to find solutions to our industries’ inclusion issues.
What You’ll Take Away: We want you to leave the session with richer insight into what diversity means and how it impacts the future of design and technology. You’ll understand why a lack of diversity matters, and how you can take action to improve diversity at your own company. You’ll also leave with ways you can help create a more inclusive industry.
Why It Matters: Diversity is important. It’s something we know instinctively, but research backs it up. Studies show that creative solutions are a by-product of diverse experiences, perspectives and cultural backgrounds. Drawing from myriad points of view is how we build truly innovative ways to experience and interact with the world.
