Queer Eye for SUPERFINE -- BLACK STYLE -- Friday, May 23rd

Hi friends,

WE'LL MEET FRIDAY at 6:30pm in GALLERY 162. That's on the first floor, front left corner on the museum map. We'll meet near the fountain in the middle of the gallery. I'll be wearing a pink bandana around my neck. Before meeting up, get your own museum ticket, check your bags if you want. We'll leave that gallery by 6:45pm at latest. If you miss us there, find us at the Superfine exhibit in gallery 999 on the second floor.

I SUGGEST YOU USE THE MEMBER ENTRANCE on Fifth Ave at 81st Street, at ground level. (You don't have to be a member to use it.)

LET'S MEET UP FOR "SUPERFINE: TAILORING BLACK STYLE," the new exhibit from the Costume Institute at The Met Museum. Afterwards, if there's time, we'll check out paintings by a few Black artists in Modern & Contemporary Art.

SUPERFINE FOCUSES ON BLACK DANDIES, it's a beautiful and interesting show. Dress up if you like, or put on a piece or two you like -- a shirt, hat, jewelry, or whatever suits your fancy.

THIS MEETUP IS DIFFERENT THAN OTHERS, as we'll focus on one exhibit, rather than going all around the museum. The show will likely be pretty busy. We'll see how it goes and I'll make sure there's time for socializing before, during and after we see the exhibit.

SIGN UP NOW if you're confident you can make it! Space is limited, but if there's enough interest, I'll open up more spaces, and make the event more decentralized. (This is not an official Met Museum activity.)

THE MEETUP ITSELF IS FREE, and attendees will get their own tickets for the museum. Tickets are pay-what-you-wish for residents of New York State. For people coming from out of state, let me know and I'll get you covered.
