Spain has experienced a huge shift in recent years with more local governments focusing on transparency and open government. This has had a positive impact helping reduce corruption and creating a more open line between officials and citizens.

Join Aitana Mas, one of the youngest political leaders in Spain and Director of the newly formed Ministry of Transparency and Participation for Valencia Spain. She will talk about her personal experience on this journey.

Aitana, an engineer by trade, has made technology and open government strategies central to her work. This combination and her passionate pursuit to create a better Spain, has been key to making a healthier government and reducing corruption in a region that for decades was considered one of the most corrupt in Spain. It is also testament of the positive impact young, tech-savvy Spaniards are having on the future of their country.

Aitana Mas is the Director of the Ministry of Transparency and Participation for Valencia, Spain. In this role, she manages programs and policies focused on bringing further transparency and civic participation of civil society. Mas at one point was considered the youngest party leader in Spain, and has a degree in Engineering from the University of Alicante.
