What a beautiful area and what a lot of glorious and inglorious stories!

One of London's most elite areas, St James has connotations with gentleman's clubs, exclusive shops and royalty. But it has other associations too - a long gone theatre, a nook where artists and musicians hung out and even the odd steam bath or two...... a dedicated follower of fashion, one of music's most famous couples and one of theatre's most famous couples are to be found here.

There aren't many (any?) places where you'll hear the names of Rock Hudson, Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and Jimi Hendrix gracing - and sometimes 'disgracing' - the same streets.
