Short River Thames Walk in Gravesend
Details
This is a new walk.
From the historic town of Gravesend on the river Thames to quintessentially Kentish villages, set in some of the county’s most beautiful countryside - this is a borough to experience with plenty to offer every taste and budget!
Gravesend with its famous piers and cobbled High Street full of independent shops, artisan makers and atmospheric tea and tap rooms is the perfect place to start. This is also a town of myth and legend with stories to tell at every corner – including the last resting place of Pocahontas and the home of famous author Charles Dickens.
We will meet outside Gravesend Station Platform 2 at 11 am, and leave at 11. 15 am, and go to the Richard Pocock {Wetherspoons} for a hot drink and breakfast for those that would like to eat there.
Afterwards we will walk to Gordon Promenade, and the River Thames, where there are benches where you can eat your lunch {if you bring your own} there are also toilets there.
There are some lovely views here, and you can see Tilbury Docks, the other side of The River Thames.
After lunch, we will walk around a park, and then back up the cobbled streets to The Richard Pocock.
Time will be given to look at the shops here.
