Back by popular demand as we had so much fun in early December...

Poppie’s is renowned for its authentic fish and chips and the shop is filled with retro memorabilia from Pop’s childhood with uniforms that channel a 1940s vibe. Poppie’s is as progressive as it is nostalgic, using the best and most responsibly-sourced ingredients. There are lots of alternatives to traditional fish and chips by the way and the cocktails are good!

On the first Friday night of every month, at no extra charge, there is live music. These are usually bands that cover classics from the 60s/70s/80s. You'll know them all and they do take requests too! We won't know which band it is until about a week before but the quality is always good.

Usually band will come on from 19.30 and there will be a ½ hour interval. The table will be ours for the evening and there is no rush. Our previous meetups here have always been great fun.

Please pay a deposit of £12.50 when you RSVP 'Yes'. £10 in cash will be returned to you at dinner. The remaining £2.50 is a non-refundable contribution to site subscription fees. If you need to drop out, please change your RSVP. If someone takes your space I will refund you the £10 (LESS any PayPal charges for you sending/being returned the £10). If you leave the space empty the £10 will not be refunded.

If you are running late post a message on the site so we know.

Anyone who registers as a 'no show' 3 times will be removed from the group. A 'no show' is defined as a 'Yes' RSVP which is not changed to a 'No' at least 4 hours prior to the event. Please be courteous to your group members.
