Come play in the wild Florida scrub with us at Oscar Scherer State Park located in the town of Osprey, just south of Venice. This is a great place to camp as the sites are surrounded and divided by trees and scrub which provide some privacy and a buffer from the other campers around you. Each site has electricity, water, and access to a bathhouse. The park offers 15 miles of trails, sits along the Legacy Trail, and is home to the endangered Florida scrub jays, an eagle's nest, and gopher tortoises.

During our trip we will hike in the park and we are planning a trip to the Celery Fields, located in Sarasota. Bicyclists will enjoy the Legacy Trail, a rails-to-trails path that will take you to Sarasota. Bring your own kayak and paddle on South Creek, a tidal creek that runs through the property. If birds are your thing bring your favorite camera. We will also pay a visit to Sarasota for a meal or pastry and the local farmer's market.

Book your campsite here: Oscar Scherer State Park. Don't forget post your site once you've made your reservation. If you do not post or message your site number you will be marked as not going. You must have your own gear to participate.
