Accordionist Ana Bon-Bon & Cambie happy hour
Details
It wouldn't do for us to stay away from the Cambie too long, so come check out something a little musically different this time.
Show promo blurb: "Blues cabaret accordionist, songwriter, and chanteuse Ana Bon-Bon plays the historic Cambie Pub with a rockin' soul country blues band featuring Curtis DeBray (guitar) & Taylor Little (drums)."
In terms of press reviews, Rupert Bottenberg of the Montreal Mirror had this to say: ''Nodding to old blues, gospel, and tin-pan alley tunesmithing, Vancouver's Ana Bon-Bon and her full-bodied voice and accordion playing bring a vintage, bawdy-house, bon-temps vibe to life.''
Ana also hosts a weekly "Sunday for Sinners" saloon and social night at East Van's Princeton Pub - something for us to perhaps check out in future depending on how this Sunday goes.
There's also just the good company and budget-friendly Cambie happy hour menu (till 9pm) to enjoy. No cover.
We have two tables reserved for 5:30, which will give us some time to chat before the music starts at 7pm. The music will go till 10 pm, but you might wish to leave earlier.
And if you like local history, here's a great article about the history of The Cambie Pub.
