Smell the roses, see the delphiniums at VanDusen garden
Details
VanDusen is gorgeous this time of year, so let's not miss two seasonal VanDusen highlights: roses and delphiniums. We should be able to see some of both on this trip, but keep in mind that the entire garden is weather dependent, so exactly what's blooming on any given day is up to nature. That said, I took the photo for this event on June 14 last year in their heritage rose garden (where the best-smelling roses are).
Departure time and place
We'll depart from our meeting place near the admission desks (inside the visitor centre) at 3pm (sharp). We'll go at a leisurely pace once we get underway so we have time to smell the roses, literally. Therefore, we may not cover the whole garden in two hours.
There's a cafe on-site, where you can get a fairly typical selection of snacks and drinks (at typical attraction prices). I recommend bringing a water bottle.
Cost: $15.81 for adults at this time of year | $12.65 for senior adults. Or free if you have a pass (well worth it if you like plants). Info on all that here. You can buy your admission ticket ahead of time online or pay in person.
Weather note: The current Saturday forecast calls for 25 degrees Celsius. If that changes dramatically between now and Saturday, the event plan will change accordingly too - I'll update as needed.
