Provence Marinaside is somewhere we should go more often, even if it is in darkest Yaletown. The last time we went was a Bring Your Dog themed happy hour that remarkable went off without any incidents whatsoever. The venue selection was requested by the person whom we will be having an aged related celebration for. Remember, no birthday parties that only make us feel older at this event.

Food here is great and the HH menu offers a very wide variety of dishes. Booking is for 12, but I can expand that 24 hours beforehand if there is the demand for it so do sign up for the wait list, but only if you are pretty sure you will make it please. Last event we had 12 attendees but 18 cancels with most of those within 24 hours prior to start time.

The usual blurb below for any newcomers to either this event or group!

Anyone recently new to the group, this is a pretty popular and very friendly event, please read the lengthy but hopefully helpful verbiage at the end of this to get an idea of what this Happy Hour group is all about. The below is always added to this events text and is intended for anyone new to this event and unsure whether to come and join us. Please read and feel comfortable and confident to come along!

We are a very friendly and welcoming bunch so no need to be nervous about coming along for the first time. A few pointers for potential newbies

If this is the first time you’ve seen this event or you’ve always wanted to come but were a little hesitant to join us, we are very genuinely a group of easy going people who will ensure any newcomers are more than welcome and made to feel comfortable and at home as soon as you sit down. Talk as much or as little as you want. This isn’t about drinking solidly for 3 hours of happy hour bargain prices, just a gathering of lovely people who love good company and $6 glasses of wine and/or beer. Attending an event for the first time can be like your first day at a new school, standing on the edge of the playground waiting for eye contact. We will welcome you with open arms to come and join us on the swings or in the sandbox as soon as we meet you.

There are hardly any rules tor the Happy Hour event. Join coffee or drinks only. Join both. Turn up whenever you want. Wear whatever you want. Turn up with whomever you want. Latecomers are always welcomed, never judged. No 7 strikes and you’re out. It’s a weekday late afternoon event and life happens, just let me know if you can’t make it so we don’t have to save a seat for you. Bring a guest. Be a guest only and message me directly if you are not yet a member of the group but would like to try first before you buy. I remember the tentative terror of attending my first event!!

The only rule is please steer clear of any and all strong political views.

I, and all in the group, very much look forward to meeting and welcoming new people into what is really a lovely, comfortable and fun way to spend a Thursday afternoon.
